Manifestaciones culturales de religiosidad popular. Significados de cruces, capillitas y montículos en carreteras de la región Altos Sur de Jalisco, México

Abstract

Resumen Por considerar necesario e importante entender los significados y el por qué muchos mexicanos, particularmente de la región Altos Sur de Jalisco, México desde hace muchos años han tenido (y tienen) la costumbre de construir y/o colocar montículos, capillitas y cruces, en memoria de los fallecidos en las carreteras, hoy bajo la influencia religiosa católica, se han diversificado y convertido en evidentes manifestaciones culturales, producto de la religiosidad y devoción popular que asombran a propios y a extraños. Esta investigación se realizó para tratar de entender, interpretar y explicar este fenómeno social, conforme los lineamientos metodológicos de la fenomenología, como lo exponen y explican tanto Husserl como Heidegger, quienes llevan a esclarecer de manera objetiva los fenómenos (o experiencias) tal como se presentan; también se considera la forma en que se vive este fenómeno, según los testimonios de actitudes asumidas e interpretaciones de algunas personas que tradicionalmente así hacen extensivo sus sentimientos y duelo por la pérdida de un ser querido; igual se toman en cuenta las versiones y significados que externan algunos sacerdotes católicos y de especialistas en estudios antropológicos que fueron consultados, para entender mejor este fenómeno, como producto hibrido cultural que incluye tradiciones indígenas mesoamericanas y prácticas religiosas católicas, combinadas con deducciones construidas por los practicantes de dicha religión.

Abstract For considering it necessary and important to understand the meanings and why many Mexicans, particularly from the region of the High South of Jalisco, Mexico for many years have had (and have) the habit of building and / or placing mounds, chapels and crosses, in memory of the deceased on the roads, today under Catholic religious influence, have diversified and become evident cultural manifestations, product of religiousness and popular devotion that amaze both strangers and their own. This research was conducted to try to understand, interpret and explain this social phenomenon, according to the methodological guidelines of phenomenology, as explained and explained by both Husserl and Heidegger, who lead to objectively clarify the phenomena (or experiences) as present The way in which this phenomenon is lived is also considered, according to the testimonies of assumed attitudes and interpretations of some people who traditionally extend their feelings and mourning for the loss of a loved one; The versions and meanings expressed by some Catholic priests and specialists in anthropological studies who were consulted are also taken into account, in order to better understand this phenomenon, as a hybrid cultural product that includes Mesoamerican indigenous traditions and Catholic religious practices, combined with deductions constructed by the practitioners of said religion.
